A classical singer specialized in contemporary music, performer of popular music, choir conductor, songwriter-composer, cabaret artist and teaching artist, Zoé Fouray has placed multidisciplinarity at the heart of her artistic path since childhood.

After joining the Maîtrise de Radio France at the age of 11, she studied in the classical singing department (DSJC) of the Paris Regional Conservatory (CRR), consolidating a young mezzo-soprano repertoire.

With extensive professional experience as a soloist, choir conductor and chorister, recently at Théâtre de la Colline, the Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and on tour across French national stages, she is also committed to teaching singing at the conservatory (CRR de Paris), in primary schools and within artistic companies, and has become a music-specialization teacher at a Parisian high school.

BIOGRAPHY

She specializes in contemporary repertoire, particularly within multidisciplinary projects such as Amos Gitai’s “Golem”, with ensembles including Le Balcon, Les Métaboles, Dulci Jubilo, Êkhô, Ensemble Dynamique and Musicatreize, and as a conductor for the Paris Orchestra Choir.

She gives recitals in a variety of settings (museums, ceremonies, private events) and has performed solo roles including Léonie in “La Vie Parisienne” at Théâtre du Châtelet and Riff in “West Side Story” at the Arena du Périgord.

Keen to explore the fusion of classical voice, chanson and electronic music, she created a pop project entitled Blue Carmen, through which she has collaborated with ORLAN, La Femme and Yael Naim.

She also lends her voice to various soundtracks composed by Amine Bouhafa and co-composes library music for advertising, documentary and other media.

Finally, her recent experiences as a dancer at Cabaret Sauvage and as a drag queen at Cabaret Madame Arthur have opened new artistic spheres. Through the development of her own artistic company, she has created more intimate projects: a solo show combining acting, singing and dance around eating disorders, a family musical concert in a classical trio format, and around ten high-energy, politically engaged cabaret shows.

Her political commitment is reflected in her feminist writing projects, shows and compositions, as well as in her choices of interpretation and collaboration.
